i used to be clueless about it and whenever i’m searching for a recipe,i tend to ignore those with buttermilk in it..or i might just substitute it with milk!(i know,that how stupid i was that why i have this entry now to make up for it!erk!)well, nobody told me that buttermilk makes your cake/cupcakes moist and much tender!i thought that its just another ingredient that i need to go out of my way to find it!(apparently this new shop nearby that sells imported stuff has it!)..
Apparently,buttermilk helps a lot..i mean there are recipes that uses buttermilk and yummy!buttermilk makes my cupcakes/cake (in this picture) becomes wonderful and addictive (i hate you!i cant stop eating them cupcakes..there goes my weight..aaaa…)but seriously,u guy should have at least tried a recipe with buttermilk! the one that’s in my oven is a chocolate chip buttermilk cake..enjoy!
the buttermilk chocolate chip cake recipe:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups cake flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup butter,softened
4 large eggs + 2 egg yolk
4 tsp pure vanilla extract
1. Preheat oven to 350F and line your cake pan.
2. In large bowl,sift all the dry ingredients and set aside.
3. Using a mixer,mix butter sugar until fluffy. Then add eggs and yolks one at a time until just combine.
4. Pour the batter into the cake pan
Suggestion:u can either ice the cake using a chocolate ganache or just chocolates with butter!either way,both are delicious!
heat the cream until slightly bubbles then pour in the chocolate and mix it until smooth..place in the freezer until it sets nicely before decorating the cake!
heat chocolate in microwave for a few second just melt it, then add butter.pour over the cake and let set in the fridge.
